Inspired by real civil rights heroes and real classroom moments, I Think My Teacher Is a Superhero! Honors the courage, creativity, fairness, and love teachers bring into their classrooms. It encourages children to see the “superpowers” in the adults who guide them: kindness, bravery, leadership, and the ability to make every child feel seen.
This story helps children understand that heroes don’t always fly; sometimes they teach.

About the Author
Crystal Cobb Collier is a Boston Public Schools educator, Wilson® and Orton‑Gillingham certified reading specialist, and literacy advocate who has spent her career helping students discover the power inside them. She works with struggling readers across elementary and secondary settings, creating tools that make literacy feel simple, joyful, and possible — even when learning feels hard.
Her work is rooted in equity, representation, and the belief that every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and proud of who they are. Crystal knows firsthand that strengths come in many forms, and she brings patience, creativity, and deep care into every space she teaches. Whether she’s helping a teenager unlock a word or encouraging a young reader to trust their voice, her mission is always the same: to help every child feel like they matter.
